Overview
The Activity Report allows instructors to view the posts and comments that have been made by each participant. It is particularly useful when facilitating a topic discussion or viewing activity in a discussion prior to its due date.
Discussion Activity Report - Canvas
All Students View
- Open your Harmonize discussion.
- Click the Topic Activity link located at the top of the Harmonize discussion page.
- Alternatively, click the Activity button near the upper right corner of the Instructions section.
- This will open the All Students view of the Harmonize Discussion Activity Report.
The "All Students" Activity view displays all discussion activity by students, including the number of posts, comments, and reactions. This view also displays the student's Milestone Progress, Submitted Grade, Last Interaction Date, and the discussion's Final Due Date.
Note: "Final Due Date" is calculated by the LMS. If you've assigned different dates to different individuals or groups, those dates will be reflected here.
- [1] Course Topic Activity Report link, which allows you to view student activity across all Harmonize discussions in the course.
- [2] Showing Activity for drop down menu, where you can select an individual student activity view. By default, activity for all students is shown.
- [3] Students with incomplete submissions toggle, which lets you see activity only for students who have not fully completed the requirements for this discussion.

[4] Individual Student Overview. This section reflects:
- Student Name: Name of the student
- Posts: Number of posts published by the individual student
- Comments: Number of comments published by the individual student
- Reactions: Number of reactions published by the individual student

Milestone Progress: Current status of the student's Milestone completion:
- Complete: The student has fulfilled all Milestone requirements.
- In Progress: The student has fulfilled some, but not all Milestone requirements.
- Not Started: The student has not made any progress toward Milestone completion.
- Submitted Grade: Grade submitted to SpeedGrader by the instructor or via the participation Auto-Grading feature.
- Last Interaction: Date of the student's most recent Milestone progress
- Final Due Date: The Due Date of the discussion's final Milestone
Individual Student View
- Click the Showing Activity for drop down menu and select a student from the list.
- This will open the Individual Student View of the Harmonize Discussion Activity Report.
- [1] Student navigation arrows. Click these arrows to navigate between students while in the individual student view.
- [2] Current status banner. This banner displays the current status of the student's work. Statuses include: [Student] has not started their work, [Student] has started but not yet completed their work, or [Student] has work available for review.
- [3] Public Topic Activity. This area displays a detailed view of all public original student posts as well as all public comments and replies to other student or instructor posts. Note: Private comments and replies will not be shown in this view. See Private Comments and Replies learn more about this feature.
- [4] Milestone (Public). This area displays a detailed view of the student's Milestone progress along with the current status of Participation Auto-Grading. See Milestones and Auto-Grading to learn more about these features.
- [5] Public Activity Totals: This areas displays the total student participation in the current discussion including the number of student posts and comments, the number of responses received, and the number of all discussion posts viewed by the student.
Discussion Activity Report - Blackboard, Brightspace, and Moodle
All Students Activity View
- Open your Harmonize discussion.
- Click the Topic Activity link located at the top of the Harmonize discussion page.
- Alternatively, click the Grades & Activity button near the upper right corner of the Instructions section.
- This will open the All Students view of the Harmonize Discussion Activity Report.
The "All Students" Activity view displays all discussion activity by students, including the number of posts, comments, and reactions. This view also displays the student's Milestone Progress, Submitted Grade, Last Interaction Date, and the discussion's Final Due Date.

Individual Student View
While viewing Activity for a graded discussion, your individual student view will also include grading features. You may enter or update student grades, add or edit instructor comments, and submit grades via the Submit & Next button.

- This will open the Individual Student View of the Harmonize Discussion Activity Report.
- [1] Student navigation arrows. Click these arrows to navigate between students while in the individual student view.

[2] Overall Feedback Menu.
- Grade. Enter a grade for the current student in the Grade field provided. Grades may be entered manually or automatically via the participation Auto-Grading feature.
- Gradebook Comment. Enter in comments in this field.
- Submit & Next button. When you're done, you can click this button to move to the next student.
- [3] Current status banner. This banner displays the current status of the student's work. Statuses include: [Student] has not started their work, [Student] has started but not yet completed their work, or [Student] has work available for review.

Course Topic Activity Report
- In any All Student or Individual Student Activity view, click the "Course Topic Activity" link located in the top right corner.
- This report displays student activity totals across all Harmonize discussions in the course.
Filter Reports

[1] Assignments & Topics dropdown menu. Options:
- Assignment & Topics. View both Harmonize Assignments and discussion Topics. (default view)
- Assignments Only. View activity for only Assignments.
- Topics Only. View activity for only discussion Topics.

[2] Open & Closed dropdown menu. Options:
- Open & Closed. Shows both open and closed assignment & topic activity
- Open Only: Shows activity for open assignments & topics
- Closed Only: Shows activity for closed assignments & topics
- [3] Search. Start typing the first few letters of the topic name to filter for activity for that topic.

[4] Anonymity dropdown menu. Options:
- Non-anonymous only. View only non-anonymous activity.
- Anonymous. View only anonymous activity.
- Both. View both anonymous and non-anonymous activity.
Reports
- [1] Discussion Activity by Student. Displays the number of posts and comments for all assignments & topics.
- [2] No Activity in 7 Days. Students who have not posted or commented in the last seven days. Displays the last day of Activity.
- [3] No Activity. Students who have not posted or commented on any assignment or topic.
- [4] Topic Interest. Displays the assignment or topic with the most activity.
