Overview
Use Harmonize's built-in Video Recorder to automatically attach video recordings to your posts, comments, and replies. The example below will all reference recordings for new posts, but the same steps work for comments and replies as well.
Recording Video in Harmonize
- Open your Harmonize assignment and click Create post:
- Click the Record Video button in the Harmonize Editor:
- If this is your first time using the Harmonize Video Recorder, your browser will request permission to access your camera and microphone. Click Allow or Yes for both.
- This will open the Video Recorder. The first frame of your recording will also serve as the thumbnail for the recording, so be sure to smile! Click the Start Recording button to begin your video recording.
- NOTE: By default, there is a 5 minute max on Harmonize video recordings for students.
- Click the Pause button to pause your video recording.
- From pause, click the Record button to resume recording.
- From pause, click Done to complete the recording.
- Click Stop to complete your Audio Recording.
- Your video recording will begin processing. It is automatically saved and will remain attached to your unpublished post while you add other content such text, image files, and other media.
- If needed, click the Delete & Record Again button to begin the recording from scratch. When you are finished editing your post, click the Publish button.
Your Completed Video Recording
After publishing your post, it can take up to 5 minutes for your video recording to fully process. Your Harmonize video recording is automatically captioned during this process. These captions can be adjusted by downloading, editing, and re-uploading the provided .srt file. You also have the option of uploading your own original .srt file.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q. The Harmonize recorder is not recording my audio or video. How can I fix this?
- It is likely that your browser has not been granted the proper access to your microphone and/or camera. See Troubleshooting Recording Permissions.
Q. What happens when I hit the time limit?
- When you hit the time limit, Harmonize will act as though you have hit the "Stop" button. Recording will cease, and we will process the recording so you can review it.
