Peer Review Grading FAQ

  • Updated

Overview

Harmonize now offers peer review, and your graded peer review comes with some great features:

  • Multiple due dates to make different stages of peer review more clear
  • The ability to view and grade a student's draft and peer reviews all in one place
  • Auto-grading so you can use your time to give students more meaningful feedback
  • AI coaching for drafts of written work

Read below to find answers to questions about how these key features impact grading.

Why is the rubric just about the assignment portion?

Currently, rubric generation and AI coaching are only available for the initial assignment submission. At this time, there is not a separate rubric available for grading the peer review process itself.

Why did my rubric show up in Canvas?

Rubrics sync automatically with Canvas. If you don't want to use the assignment rubric to grade the draft submission and peer review as a whole, you can also remove the rubric on the Canvas side.

Why is there a warning that my student couldn't complete all their peer reviews?

You will see this message when you go to grade if a student went to look for peers' work to review but none was available AND it was past time for all of the assignments to be turned in and ready to review. In this situation, a student may not have been able to complete their work due to the lateness of their peers. This message will also tell you the last time the student checked for work. We recommend verifying that the student last checked at a reasonable time (i.e., not before drafts were even due).
